5 years of Rejekt @ Space, Ibiza, May 29th 2012

This year is shaping up to be more of the same as rEJEKTS return with the direct intention of extending Ibiza’s opening weekend as far as into the following week as possible. A party starting on Tuesday May 29th We Are The Rejekts and we invite you to throw off the shackles of everyday life and join us as we dance our way into the middle of the week.

It’s the date for a large Rejekt gathering at Space in Ibiza that will kick of the summer season in style and as of the last 3 years extending Ibiza’s legendary opening weekend by that one extra day (only for the hardcore shall we say). Playing a live set will be tech house innovator Christian Burkhardt, with Marc Antona, Johnny D, Iain Taylor, Darius Syrossian and more all joining the fun.

Rejekt has a fine tradition amongst those in the know, and so a special live set from Christian Burkhart is exactly fitting. The German is a regular at clubs like fabric and has a close association to Cocoon with the cultured house he makes. His relatively recent Revolver album with Einzelkind was something special indeed.

Marc Antona, meanwhile, plies his own unique brand of house and techno on labels like Mobilee and Freak N Chic. The Frenchman plays all over the world on a regular basis, dropping his own essential productions with a groovy selection from the best of the rest. Meanwhile Johnny D is the Cecile, Oslo and 2020 Vision producer who played a key role in the deep, tracky Manheim house sound that emerged a few years ago. His loopy, vocal laced cuts work wonders on the dancefloor.

Iain Taylor is one of the Legendary “Tribal Sessions” residents whose skills help lead to the said club night and the legendary venue “Sankeys” to many accolades including “Mixmag Club Of The Year” and “DJ Magazine Club of the year 2010”. He is the driving force behind rEJEKT and a bona fied wordwide producer DJ with an ever growing worldwide following. This year he celebrates 5 years of rEJEKTING the mundane with a series of events and a double 5 years of rEJEKT compilation.

Leeds legend Darius Syrossian ran a vinyl store in the city for years so has an unrivalled knowledge of house music from all eras. As a producer, his tech house vibe is one loved by the likes of Heidi (who signed Darius to her recent Jackathon comp) but also Steve Lawler who holds him as one of the key cogs in his VIVa Music wheel. As such, Darius plays everywhere from WMC to Sankeys to both Americas and so a revered guest indeed. He will be joined by plenty more able talent all spinning house, tech, Techno and everything in between all night long.

Either side of this huge event, there will be a number of Rejekt events around Europe, each of which will be headlined by main man Iain Taylor, his friends and select big names.
