The Manchester man was in a critical condition after taking ecstasy, but his condition is now said to be much improved. Police have also revealed that a 21-year-old Newcastle woman was raped after being attacked by a group of three men on the Town Moor on Saturday night. The woman had been to a party in Exhibition Park with friends. She left around 10.30pm, but got lost on the Town Moor. She was approached by the three men, and two of them pinned her to the ground while the third raped her. Thousands of young people turned up in Newcastle on Saturday for the Love Weekend. Indoor dance events and smaller parties replaced the official Love Parade, which was cancelled by Radio 1 due to safety fears.
