Random House has reached a deal with music mogul Sean 'P Diddy' Combs to end a lawsuit to recover a $300,000 book advance from the rapper.
Combs's 'would be' publisher alleged the artist did not return a $300,000 advance after failing to complete his memoir.
Random's Ballantine imprint paid Combs the money in 1998 when the hip hop star agreed to write his autobiography. According to court documents, Combs was supposed to have his memoir completed by December 15, 1999.
Combs never delivered the book and in February, Random House sued him to recover the advance, plus interest. Random House said the rapper and his corporation "simply kept the money they never rightly earned."
This week a Random House spokesperson said the matter has been "amicably resolved" but declined to comment on details citing confidentiality reasons.
The publishing house said they "will not be publishing a book by P. Diddy."
