The incident occurred at 1:55 a.m. when the illuminating apparatus fell from the ceiling of the Empire nightclub in Mia-dong, Kangbuk-ku. Police said that more than 50 people dancing on the floor incurred injuries in their head and face from the crashing the steel structure. The injured were taken to nine nearby hospitals for treatment. There were no reports of deaths. ``All of a sudden, the steel structure supporting the lights fell from the ceiling. I suffered a injury in the face from the debris of light bulbs,' said Kim Sang-shik, 37, who was dancing with his friends in an year-end party.
