More Action Taken
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has filed lawsuits against 757 people accused of sharing music using file trading programs.
Most of the targeted are from 17 universities.
Despite recent studies showing those that file share are more likely to purchase albums, the recording group believes it's better to not stand idly by and let wholesale piracy continue.
So far a staggering 14,800 cases have been brought in the USA compared to just 90 in the UK by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Perhaps it's time for more people to learn how to use Usenet....
