Alex P, the legendary Ibiza DJ, was injured in a car crash yesterday evening. A female passenger who was travelling in the same jeep was killed. She is reported to have been the girlfriend of one of two Canadian promoters who were passengers in the vehicle. Alex, who was a passenger in the front seat, was wearing a seat belt. He is currently in hospital suffering from cuts and bruises and is expected to be discharged tomorrow. The accident happened on the notorious road between Ibiza Town and San Antonio. The driver lost control of the car and it careered off the road and rolled over on the kerb. No other vehicles were involved. The female passenger is the 63rd person to be killed on the road this season. Last Sunday Ibiza regular Mark Boughton, aged 40, died in a motorbike accident on the same stretch at the Can Tomas junction near Pikes Hotel. Last year 70 people were killed on the road.
